'Hello' leaps straight to the summit
It was going to take something massive to wrestle the top spot on the Irish singles chart out of Justin Bieber's grip - and massive it most certainly is.
'Hello', the long-awaited comeback from Adele, has taken its inevitable slot at the top of the rundown, breaking a nine week run for the Canadian pop prince. He does, however, have the consolation of claiming both No. 2 and No. 3, as 'Sorry' and 'What Do You Mean' are the closest challengers to Ms Adkin's bestseller.
The Dublin-bound Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have held onto fourth spot with 'Downtown', while 'The Hills' secures another week within the top five for The Weeknd, whose 'Can't Feel My Face' is unmoved at No. 10.
Calvin Harris and Disciples, Rudimental, Drake and One Direction all stay within the top ten, as Ariana Grande scores the highest new entry as 'Focus' enters at No. 14.
