Brian Robertson has been confirmed as the star turn on January 4 as Black Rose: The 25th Annual Vibe For Philo takes place in Vicar St., Dublin.
Robbo, who was a member of Thin Lizzy between 1974 and 1978, will be accompanied by his new band, which features assorted members of Europe, Treat and MSG plus Swedish rocker Liny Wood.
Along with some old favourites, they’ll also be performing tracks from Robertson’s debut solo album, Diamonds & Dirt, which includes four Lizzy-era songs.
"Obviously the 4th January is an emotional time for me and there's no better way to commemorate it than being in Dublin with all those Lizzy supporters who love Phil so much, many of whom weren't even born when he died," the guitarist says.
Confirmed as well is Lizzy sleeve designer Jim Fitzpatrick who’ll be bringing some previously unseen Black Rose artwork outtakes with him.
Tickets go on sale on Friday August 20 priced €40. The same day will also find fans gathering around the Philo statue in Harry Street to celebrate what would have been his 61st birthday.
