Stray Dog has been created with Moorhouse’s of Burnley
After decades of dominating the music world, New Order are aiming to make a similar splash at the bar with the launch of their own beer.
Straw Dog, named after a track from last year's LP Music Complete, is “a refreshing and clean tasting golden ale with hints of citrus fruit and lychee, all balanced by a subtle bitterness”. It's been made with Moorhouse's of Burnley, after the two parties put their heads together for what we're sure were highly professional - and, at times, taxing - tasting sessions during the spring.
“It’s been a pleasure to work with Moorhouse’s of Burnley on our first foray into the brewing business," the band said in a statement. "Even more so that they're celebrating their 150th anniversary, and have such a rich heritage in the north west”.
The brew will only be available in Mitchells & Butlers pubs in the UK - though if the lads find room in their suitcases when over for the Electric Picnic next month, Team HP would be happy to take a few off their hands!
