HWCH launch tonight
Live bands, Bulmers Berry and chips? Not only is the Hard Working-class Heroes festival the Irish independent music industry's most telling barometer, it also knows how to throw a launch party!
This year the festival will be calling for Irish independent bands and music photographers to apply for a place in the festival through First Music Contact's website [link]www.breakingtunes.com[/link], where bands can upload tracks, photos and band biographies for the selection process. The closing date for entries this year is July 30.
The launch tonight in The Twisted Pepper will feature music from Enemies, Squarehead, Nouveau Noise and At Last An Atlas, reflecting the theme of this festival - Ireland's independent labels.
Time is tight, but those wishing to attend can RSVP to [link][email protected][/link] and arrive to the door at 6.30pm this evening, with a curious request from the organizers to come armed with any old band t-shirts you may have lying around; you'll have to wait til tonight to see what the deal is with that one!
