A huge crowd turned out for the book signing by Philomena Lynott, held in The Book Centre in Kilkenny today.
There was a festive atmosphere as the crowds queued for hours to buy copies of My Boy, which the author signed with personal messages for the fans. The signing lasted for almost four hours.
The front window of The Book Centre was adorned with copies of My Boy and a band had been drafted in to play Lizzy songs, making it the most impresive signing yet undertaken by the No.1 bestselling author, since the book hit the shelves at the start of March.
My Boy has so far spent six weeks an No.1 in the irish best sellers (non-fiction).

Further signings and personal appearances have been lined up for Philomena, over the coming month. Among the highlights will be a signing next week – on Saturday July 2 – at The Book Centre in Wexford, which will also be attended by Jackie Hayden, who co-authored the book with Philomena. A tribute gig will take place at the Wexford Arts Centre in the evening, so it promises to be a brilliant day overall.
