The Go! Team want Kevin Shields to work on their next album. Oh, and a guest spot on The Simpsons, please!
The legendary My Bloody Valentine guitarist has already remixed two tracks from the English dance outfit: 'Huddle Formation' and 'Ladyflash'. Now Team leader Tim Parton wants to rope in Sheilds for work on the follow up to Thunder, Lightning, Strike.
"We're looking to get him onboard in some capacity" said Parton.
"I'll probably just send him the album and say, 'What do you think? What are you gonna do on that?' and he'll come in and make some noise, get his tremolo arm out and rip it up like that. He always said he wanted to do a garage version of The Jackson 5, and he saw that in us."
Recording should start next month in Brighton, all things going to plan. And although the album won't be out until next spring/summer, we'll get a bit of Go! for this summer in the form of a completely new single entitled 'Do It Right'.
Parton also has his eye on a cameo in The Simpsons, having impressed the series producers, "It would be a dream to appear on it (The Simpsons). It'd be stunning.
"We were angling for that totally when we met the writers. We even got the character who plays Homer (Dan Castellaneta) to say 'Go team!' on Ninja's video camera."
