Glen Hansard and Bell X1 have also announced shows.
As usual there’s been an avalanche of post-Electric Picnic gig announcements starting with Ed Sheeran – the drawer of one of the weekend’s biggest Hot Press Chatroom crowds – who’s in the Belfast Odyssey on January 10 and the following night the Dublin O2.
Tickets are £27.50 and €35 respectively and go on sale on Friday September 7.
Ahead of that Glen Hansard plays the Ulster Hall, Belfast (December 16) and Vicar St., Dublin (18) with Frames bandmates Joe, Graham, Colm, Rob and Justin, a brass section and string quartet in tow.
Not to be outdone, their pals Bell X1 hit the road for a Field Recordings-promoting acoustic tour that takes them to the Riverbank, Newbridge (October 25); Spiegeltent, Wexford (26); Glor, Ennis (27); Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo (28); Set Theatre, Kilkenny (November 1); Triskel, Cork (3); De Barra’s, Clonakilty (4); St. George’s, Carrick-On-Shannon (8); INEC, Killarney (9); Town Hall Theatre, Galway (10); Dolan’s, Limerick (16); Vicar St., Dublin (17); Empire Music Hall, Belfast (22); Balor, Ballyboffey (23); An Culturlann, Derry (24); Theatre Royal, Waterford (December 1) and Spirit Store, Dundalk (15).
