The singer-songwriter has criticized anti-abortion campaigners for using his song 'Small Bump'.
The song was used by pro-life supporters when they campaigned on the streets of Dublin.
After getting wind of this, Ed Sheeran has posted on Instagram Stories that he did not give permission for the song to be used and that using it for the No campaign "does not reflect" what 'Small Bump' is about.
Ed Sheeran wrote: “I’ve been informed that my song Small Bump is being used to promote the pro-life campaign, and I feel it’s important to let you know I have not given approval for this use, and it does not reflect what the song is about."
Ed had written the song in a honour of a “close friend” who suffered a still birth five months into her pregnancy.
He sings on the song: "You were just a small bump unborn, just four months then torn from life. Maybe you were needed up there, but we’re still unaware as why.”
