Her husband Thomas Cohen reveals at her official inquest that Geldof had started using heroin again in February 2014.
An inquest into the death of Peaches Geldof heard today that the 25-year-old was addicted to heroin and was taking methadone for two and a half years before her death.
Coroner Roger Hatch said Geldof was struggling to come off the methadone but that she had been reducing her dosage because she did not to remain on the heroin subsitute.
Her husband Thomas Cohen told the inquest that he had found text messages in February of this year that lead him to suspect she had started using heroin again. When he confronted her, he witnessed her retrieve drugs hidden in their loft and flush them down the toilet.
Cohen confirmed he had spoken to her at 5.40pm on the day before he discovered her body, had found her to be coherent and was not concerned.
Cohen's evidence coalesces with her toxicology test, which found that "recent use of heroin and the levels identified were likely to have played a role in her death."
The full inquest concludes today.
