'Hole In Her Heart' will be performed live on the Late Late Show tonight
Paul Noonan and wife Amy Van Den Broek decided to create their new duet in aid of Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin in order to "do something for them in return."
Their daughter Aislinn was nine days old when she was taken to Crumlin Hospital, 'she had been in pain and distress for long enough, and we didn't know what else to do.'
It turned out that baby Aislinn had a bad intestinal infection and so she stayed in the 'aptly-named Nazareth Ward' for three weeks.
One of the tests taken showed that she had a hole in her heart. Paul remembers 'staring at the screen, watching the tiny hole open and close with her heartbeat, winking at me...'
Baby Aislinn received all the love and tender care she needed in Crumlin Hospital, and so Paul wrote the song 'Hole In Her Heart' and recorded it with Amy, Aislinn's mom, to raise money for Crumlin Hospital and possibly more importantly 'awareness of the fact that Crumlin still needs our help in taking care of our kids when they get sick.'
'Hole In Her Heart' will be performed on the Late Late Show tonight, RTE1 at 9.30pm. It can be purchased as a very special Christmas gift donation card via [link]www.cmrf.org/heart[/link].
