The remaining dates of Bieber's international tour have been mysteriously called off, due to what Team Bieber calls "unforeseen circumstances."
Justin Bieber has been on tour for over a year now, with his massive Purpose World Tour kicking off in March 2016. The tour was booked to keep on going, following up Bieber's latest appearance in London's Hyde Park with more gigs in Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the pop star's homeland of Canada. However, the tour was mysteriously called off, with representives only explanation being that it was due to "unforeseen circumstances." A statement expressing the star's gratitude and regret was posted on his website.
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the Purpose World Tour concerts. Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over last 18 months. He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run. However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.”
This sudden cancellation comes after last week's news that Bieber has been banned from performing in China due to inexcusable behaviour, and as part of China's efforts to "purify" the country's arts. No news on whether Bieber's ban from China had anything to do with the tour cancellation, but it seems as though the Purpose World Tour wouldn't have been able to go completely global anyway.
