Josh Ritter to release new album in March
Lead single 'Joy To You Baby' is out now.
Ireland's favourite Idaho artist has been busy in recent years with his first novel, the quite brilliant Bright's Passage but he's back in the musical swing of things in 2013.
Ritter will release The Beast In Its Tracks, his first new album since 2010's So Runs The World Away on March 1.
He has plenty of personal ground to cover. Ritter says: "In the year after my marriage ended, I realised that I had more new songs than I’d ever had at one time. Far from the grand, sweeping feel of the songs on So Runs The World Away, these new songs felt like rocks in the shoe, hard little nuggets of whatever they were, be it spite, remorse, or happiness.”
Recorded in Maine with Sam Kassirer, a trailer for his sixth LP can be found below. Single 'Joy To You Baby' is on iTunes now.
