The four-disc spectacular marks the conclusion of an 18-month journey for the legendary singer…
Pictured above, Joni Mitchell's brand new box set, Love Has Many Faces: A Quartet, A Ballet, Waiting To Be Danced, features 53 newly remastered songs recorded through her landmark career.
Mitchell originally conceived the box set as the music to a ballet about love, but after 18 months of attempting to distill everything she'd written on the subject into one standalone piece, she tweaked the idea.
“I wanted the music to feel like a total work—a new work", she says. "No matter what I did, though, at that length, it remained merely a collection of songs.

“I am a painter who writes songs. My songs are very visual. The words create scenes… What I have done here is to gather some of these scenes (like a documentary filmmaker) and by juxtaposition, edit them into a whole new work."
Love Has Many Faces is available from November 24. The carefully-arranged package contains a book of 53 lyrical poems, six new paintings and an autobiographical text that reflects on the recording process.
