Have The Corrs let themselves go? No, they've spawned their own somewhat less aesthetically-pleasing tribute band.
We thought at first that somebody had stuck their name through an American spellchecker but, no, there really is a band called The Corrz paying full-time tribute to Dundalk’s finest.
“In 1997 three sisters, Caroline, Lisa and Tracy, realised that ‘blood is thicker than water’ and that a family collaboration was an excellent way of combining their individual musical career,” reads the blurb at www.wbrotherhood.fsnet.co.uk, the soup-in the-basket circuit bookers who also look after UB4T, Hi-On Maiden, Travisn’t and –genius this – the Red Hot Silli Feckers. The lucky chap who gets to be Jim Corr is the girls’ cousin Bob who probably rues now not taking that job as Shane MacGowan’s oral hygienist.
As for this tribute band lark, Caught In The Net looks forward to the Kaiser Chieftains doing a pipe ‘n’ bodhran ‘I Predict A Riot, and the ultimate in besuited combover journalism Maxïmo Clark.
After The Corrz, you may be in need of The Safety Smock – “a quilted gown designed specifically to clothe suicidal prisoners/inmates”.
With Kate Moss sadly unavailable at the moment, modeling duties fall to what looks like Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks after a particularly strenuous bout of partying.

From there, it’s but a mere mouse-click to www.florabush.com and its revelation that, “Hurricanes and black people aren’t all my dad ignores”.
The titular young lady goes on to explain that, “On November 25th 1981, George W. Bush became the loving father of twins. Unfortunately, Mom gave birth to triplets. Hello, America. I’m Flora Bush, the daughter the President doesn’t want you to know about. I’m a Democrat! I’m a punk! And I’m going to rock you with my with my new album, The Child Left Behind.”
Boasting such choice couplets as, “Your credibility gap is twice as wide as the generation gap between us/but the thing I find most incredible of all is that mommy touched your penis”, the collection’s stand-out, ‘Get Out Of Iraq (And My Room)’, has been getting up commendable numbers of right-wing noses and is available for free download.
Which just leaves time for quick visits to thebosh.com/archives/2005/10/morning_tea_kat.php (Kate gak-taking video); http://www.ps260.com/molly/SHINING%20FINAL.mov (The Shining transformed into cute family weepie); and www.johnpeelmusic.com (fitting tribute to the great man).
