The Unthanks have lined up dates for an intimate tour next spring, stopping off at Vicar St in May.
The English folk troupe, led by Rachel and Becky Unthank, will perform re-imagined songs and poems of influential songwriter Molly Drake, the mother of Nick Drake, at over 20 shows across the UK and Ireland between April 18 and May 28, stopping at Vicar St on May 27. Tickets are on sale now at ticketmaster.ie
In the eyes of The Unthanks, and increasingly amongst others, Molly Drake’s body of work is extraordinary enough to rank alongside, and independently of, her brilliant son.
The tour will be accompanied by the release of 'Diversions Vol 4. - The Unthanks Perform The Songs and Poems of Molly Drake'.
