The new film, starring Andrea Corr, and based on the tradition of feis ceoil is screening in Toronto next week
Having received its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, The Boys From County Clare makes its North American debut at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Originally titled The Great Celi War, the John Irvin-directed film provides a starring role for Andrea Corr who's joined in the cast by Bernard Hill, Colm Meaney, Philip Barantini, Shaun Evans and Charlotte Bradley.
Reads the press blurb: "The All-Ireland Traditional Music Competition is attracting the best musicians from all over the country – and a few beyond the shores of the Emerald Isle. The Boys From County Clare salutes the spirit of this musical tradition in a touching, gently comical tale foregrounding the family feuds that wreak havoc behind the scenes behind this battle of the bands."
