Dublin City Council has unveiled details of MusicTown 2015, a new multimedia festival taking place across the city from April 10-19.
Treats include Barrytown Meets MusicTown, a celebration of Roddy Doyle's famous trilogy that gathers together Glen Hansard, Damien Dempsey, Aslan, Peter Coonan, Paul Mercier, The Trouble Pilgrims, Cait O’Riordan, and Colm Mac Con Iomaire in Vicar St. (April 12).
Mr. Doyle is also the inspiration for the Write Here Write Now: Build Your Own Barrytown competition, details of which can be found elsewhere on hotpress.com.
Over in The Sugar Club, Public Enemy founder member Hank Shocklee takes part in a Q&A before performing a decades-straddling DJ set (10).
Silent films, Shakespearean song, Grieg, Handel and lots and lots of lovely rock bands also feature in a programme, which will be added to next month.
