Bressie has revealed that he’s decided to “park” his solo career despite regular top 10 incursions here in Ireland.
“Being 100% honest with you, I never fully settled as a solo artist,” he reveals. “It’s hard to explain. Being in a garage band (The Blizzards) that crafted songs and relationships in rehearsal rooms is a very special thing and is often something you can only truly appreciate when you don’t have it anymore.
“Due to all these reasons I spoke openly to the massively supportive people at my label, Sony and my management, Faction and I decided perhaps the best move would be to park the solo career for the foreseeable future. Sustaining yourself in the music industry is all about maintaining relationships and I have always felt honesty is the best policy when dealing with your colleagues in the industry. I can’t thank them enough for their understanding and sensitivity on the matter.”
2014 is still shaping up to be a super-busy year for him though.
“Musically, I have many plans for the future that will be revealed at a more appropriate date,” he concludes. “For the immediate future my plans are to concentrate on the production and songwriting side of things, developing and working with artists that excite me. My long-term dream is to set up a production team and studio in Dublin and in the meantime I’m going to focus on the TV side of things with The Voice and now Teenage Kicks as well as some other exciting projects including training for an Ironman Triathlon in Austria this May. It’s certainly enough to keep me occupied.”
