Paula Flynn storms the charts
Stellarsound feat. Paula Flynn’s cover of David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’ has debuted at number 11 here on download sales alone.
It’s the highest new entry in a survey that’s topped this week by Rihanna and Jay-Z’s ‘Umbrella’.
Stellarsound is the nom de studio of Steve Lynch who’s previously composed music for Harp Lager, Galaxy, Centra, Superquinn, Bank Of Ireland and Mercedes-Benz.
A native of Forkhill in County Armagh, Flynn attended Ballyfermot Rock School, and is currently studying for her second year Communications exams in DCU.
Originally recorded “for a laugh”, ‘Let’s Dance’ fell into the hands of a Ballygowan advertising man who signed it up for their new TV campaign, and receives a physical release next week courtesy of EMI Ireland.
A big factor in the song charting was the superb version herself and Lynch performed last week on Ian Dempsey’s Today FM breakfast show.
Exams out of the way, Flynn, who’s also sung with Jinx Lennon, will be heading out on tour.
