Massive Attack launch Fantom Sensory Music a new app featuring four new tracks
It’s been 2010’s Heligoland since we last had new music from Massive Attack but just after they kicked off their European tour in Dublin's Olympia Theatre last night they launched ‘Fantom’, a sensory music app featuring four new tracks.
When the group announced their European tour recently it was expected that they would be releasing new material in support of the tour but nothing had been confirmed until the launch of Fantom today.
Fantom Sensory Music is partly designed by Robert del Naja of the group and is described as "a sensory music player that remixes and reforms songs uniquely using a variety of environmental variables including location, movement, time of day, heartbeat and the integral moving image camera."
The description given on the Fantom site, which you can access here, states; "Fantom creates personal remixes using your device. The remixes reflect your movement and balance, the time of day or night, your location and your surroundings as captured by your device’s camera."

The app contains four new tracks, 'Dead Editors', 'Ritual Spirit', 'Voodoo in My Blood' and 'Take It There' but they are only partially available for now so it waits to be seen whether or not they fully release the tracks on the app and whether or not they will release more new material via the app.
You can download the app here.
