BACARDÍ will be taking its award-winning Casa BACARDÍ stage on the road this summer, visiting top Irish bars across the country in the run up to the ultimate Irish festival experience, Electric Picnic in September.
Throughout the Summer, Casa on Tour will give BACARDÍ and festival fans the chance to experience the sounds, tastes and vibes of Casa BACARDÍ in a more intimate setting with guest appearances from this year’s Casa BACARDÍ performing DJs, great tasting cocktails and a few other festival surprises along the way.
One of those scheduled to perform this summer is Claire Beck. A DJ, radio host, writer and performer, Claire will be performing at SoHo, Cork on Saturday July 21. As Claire tells us, this is a show not to be missed…
Hot Press: Are you excited to be part of a group of DJs bringing these shows all across Ireland?
Claire Beck: Of course! I don't think I'll ever fully get over the fact that my job is to play music I love and make people dance. I feel very lucky.
The Casa Bacardi stage is obviously a very unique part of Electric Picnic and dance fans look forward to it every year. What do you like about it?

Some of my best EP memories over the years have been dancing at Casa Bacardi. The line up is always whopper, and whatever the weather you can't tear yourself away. I can't wait to catch Joey Negro this year, he's a big hero of mine and his sets are always class.
It's a great platform for up and coming Irish DJs. I remember dancing to DJ Deece and Kelly Anne Byrne's very first sets at Casa and look at them now. I think every DJ who's looked up from the dancefloor at Casa Bacardi has hoped that one day they'll be the one up there making everyone dance. I've wanted to play up there for a long, long time and cannot wait for my first set there this year.
What can audiences expect from your show at SoHo?
A little taste of what’s to come at Electric Picnic and a lot of nudity (kidding). As it's a Saturday night, expect lots of good vibes, disco grooves, and hopefully sore feet and happy faces by the end of the night.
What type of music have you been digging recently?
For me, sunny days mean listening to lots of disco, funk and old school hip hop. Tracks from Krystal Klear's The Division EP and the Doug Willis - Doug Biznizz EP have been getting a lot of spins in my sets lately.
You regularly play sets across Dublin and beyond. How do you make sure each individual night is unique and pumping?
Every venue, crowd and night is unique, that's what makes DJing so much fun. I tend to over plan my sets and have lots of options ready to go, then throw most of that plan out the window once I hit play on the first tune and just feel where the room wants to go. The best sets almost feel collaborative with the crowd. When there's a collective energy in the room it's simply magic; sometimes it feels like the tunes pick themselves when this happens.

Is Cork always a fun place to play? Do you have any good stories from nights in Cork?
Cork is always a good time. The people who come out tend to know their tunes, be out to have a good time and best of all, be receptive to the DJ. I could tell some stories but what happens in Cork, stays in Cork. You'll just have to come along on Saturday and see for yourself!
Casa Bacardi's motto for these events is 'Do what moves you'. What does that mean to you?
It means being authentic and having a clear idea of what you want to achieve... and going for it, all in. Platforms like Casa Bacardi that support artists doing this are so important. I'm beyond excited to be part of it.
Casa on Tour will set the summer vibe in the following venues:
• SoHo, Cork, Saturday, 21st July, with guest DJ Claire Beck
• D2 Dublin, Thursday, 2nd August 2018, with guest DJ, DJ Flip
• Plus other venues across the country TBA
