The Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award winner at the Sundance Film Festival gets its first preview
The months after major film festivals are always joyous, with small-scale acclaimed films picking up distributors and gradually getting exposed to wider audiences. The latest indie offering to come from the Sundance Film Festival is Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, a dramedy that picked up the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at the festival, which was held January-February.
The film tells the story of a boy (and eventually his friend, Earl) who is initially forced to spend time with a classmate, Rachel, diagnosed with cancer but gradually forms a bond with her. He and Earl, who are amateur (and we mean seriously amateur) filmmakers eventually endeavor to create a film for Rachel.

Starring Thomas Mann, RJ Cyler, Olivia Cooke, Nick Offerman and Molly Shannon, the film looks as quirkily charming and simultaneously heart-wrenching as it sounds. Have a look at the trailer below and look for the film in theaters in June!
