The international Americana duo is set to collaborate in person for the first time on a weeklong trip around Ireland.
The unlikely partnership of veteran Minneapolis rocker Rex Haberman and Scottish born, Galway based singer and Youtube star Aileen Henderson has already borne fruit in the shape of the St. Patrick’s Day release of the duo’s eponymous debut EP, Light Over There. This August, however, sees the pair – who have thus far only collaborated across the internet – embark upon their first Irish tour together.
18-year old Henderson made a name for herself by uploading performances to Youtube as a way to overcome her shyness, and her channel has already received over 68,000 views and counting. It was through these videos that she initially formed a relationship with Haberman and his band War Poets over Twitter.
Over six months the pair assembled the songs that would make up their debut EP and proceeded to record them, with Henderson laying down her vocals in Galway over tracks that Haberman had recorded with established Nashville musicians in a studio in Wisconsin.
