John Boyega has revealed that he caught a Pokémon on the set of the next Star Wars movie.
The actor, who plays Finn in the Star Wars reboot series, spent some of his downtime on the set of Episode VIII at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire Pokémon-hunting.
Asked by TechCrunch if he is playing Pokémon Go, the actor replied: "I do have the app. Currently at level 5, CP levels are looking good. I found a Pikachu at Pinewood Studios while filming Star Wars. I told EVERYBODY. 'I got a Pikachu!' I was the most popular kid on set for like a day."
Boyega also said he was taken aback by the popularity of the app during a recent trip to Boston. "I thought there was like a fight going on, there were so many people crowding…" he recalled. "I was like, 'What's going on?' Oh, they’re just playing Pokemon. It’s great the ways technology has brought us all together. It’s a very interesting time."
Pokémon Go’s astonishing success has been highlighted after it recently became the most successful mobile game in US history. That was after new statistics suggested that in the US, Pokémon Go has become as popular as Twitter and more popular than Tinder.
