Eminem for Slane
The rapper is Meath-bound next August!
Not content with welcoming Bon Jovi on June 15, Slane is for the first time in its illustrious history hosting two different acts in the one summer.
Yup, it’s just been announced that Eminem will be playing there on August 17, 2013 with tickets priced €79.50.
The idea of the Mathers boy returning to Ireland was mooted yesterday on hotpress.com after we learned that he was among next year’s Leeds and Reading festival headliners.
The biggest selling rap artist of all time here, Eminem was originally down to headline Lord Henry’s gaff in 2005 but cancelled late in the day due to “exhaustion complicated by other matters.” It later transpired that he had developed a prescription drug dependency.
He’d made his Irish debut two years earlier at Punchestown, a 40,000-plus sell-out fueled by the box-office success of the 8 Mile film.
An official baseball cap bearing the years of his previous releases plus 2013 seems to confirm that the trip to Meath will be preceded by a new album.
