There's a bit of a treat on the way for those purchasing the issue of Hot Press that comes out on Febraury 23. Well, more than the usual anyway.

For in said magazine, there's info on a fab Josh Ritter competition plus you'll find a Josh Ritter CD sleeve, with your own unique password that will allow you access to these downloads:

Girl In The War (live at the Olympia Theatre, Feb 2004):
Josh has been opening his live shows with this for the last two years and there was huge demand for the bootleg versions on the internet. This is the first official recorded version. The studio version appears on The Animal Years.

Here At The Right Time (demo):
Josh tried recording this for both Golden Age Of Radio and Hello Starling. Here is one of those demo versions. The studio version appears on The Animal Years.

Man Burning (the Bacon and Quarmby remix):
Originally available on the album Hello Starling. This was Josh's first substantial radio breakthrough in both Ireland and the UK. It was the most played song on Radio 2 for two weeks in a row.

Potter's Wheel:
From his first self-released album, which has never been officially available in Ireland. This made an appearance on a compilation called For Your Machine on local Dublin indie label Mango Music.

Song For The Fireflies:
The song he closed his Dublin Castle show with on a balmy evening in June 2004.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE TRACKS:

  1. CLICK HERE

  2. When prompted for your name and password, enter the unique code given in your issue of Hot Press in both fields

  3. Right-click or Ctrl+click on each of the file names and choose "Download link to disc" for Internet Explorer browsers, "Download linked file" for Safari browsers or "Save link as" for Firefox browsers

  4. The file will save at the given location on your hard drive, after which you can move it where you want, or use your CD-burning software to make your Josh Ritter CD

  5. Enjoy in total relaxation, singing along loudly if desired!
