The Coronas have been added to the star studded line-up for The Music Show 2010.
One of the most successful Irish acts of the past five years, the band's second album Tony Was An Ex Con is still in the irish Top 30, at No.28, a year on from its initial release. The album has been in the top 75 all of 48 weeks, making it one f the best performing albums of the year. The band have repeatedly topped the Irish indie charts during the same period.
Like their debut album Heroes and Ghosts, Tony Was An Ex-Con has gone platinum. The band are now setting their sights on the US and Australia, as the campaign for international success to match their stratospheric performance on home turf intensifies.
The Coronas join a blistering array of irish talent who will play the Live Stage at The Music Show, including Sharon Corr, Cathy Davey, Damien Dempsey, Republic of Loose, Fight Like Apes, Codes, The Cast of Cheers, Mick Flannery and many more. In what promises to be one of the music events of the year, there will also be a public interview with Bob Geldof, a guitar masterclass with Newton Faulkner, a songwriting masterclass (with guitars to hand) with Mundy and Gemma Hayes, drum clinics with Carlos Hercules (George Michael, Eurythmics, The Waterboys, Beverley Knight and many more) and, separately, Conor Guilfoyle – among dozens of other additional attractions.
A series of panels and debates will also feature, with U2 producer Steve Lillywhite, Mick Glossop, Andy Gill of the Gang of Four, Minister for Communications Eamon Ryan, Louis Walsh, Later With Jools Holland producer Mark Cooper and MCD's Justin Green among the star panelists.

The Music Show, presented by Hot Press in association with RTÉ 2fm, Irish Independent & Evening Herald, runs from October 2nd-3rd in The RDS, Dublin. Saturday 2nd October 10 am - 6.30 pm, Sunday 3rd October 11 am - 6.30 pm.
