Chic for Cork

Disco is coming to this summer's Cork X Southwest Festival.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 08 Mar 2012

Those most legendary of disco outfits Chic have been confirmed as one of the headline turns at this year’s Cork X Southwest Music & Arts Festival, which takes place over the August Bank Holiday on the Liss Ard Estate, Skibbereen, West Cork.

A fuller line-up and ticket details will be announced shortly.

A standout act at the 2009 Electric Picnic, Chic are still lead by Nile Rodgers whose Le Freak autobiography is a must-read. Rodgers, who’s worked with everyone from Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and David Bowie to Aretha Franklin and Mick Jagger, is still gigging at a furious rate despite being diagnosed in 2010 as suffering from cancer.
