The line-up includes the people who've helped make Michael Jackson, The Prodigy and Blur look good!
The Mermaid Arts Centre is the venue between June 18 and 20 for the inaugural Bray Music Video Festival.
Highlights include a retrospective screening of the work of Steve Barron whose CV includes Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’, A-Ha’s ‘Take On Me’ and Dire Straits’ ‘Money For Nothing’; a masterclass with Tony Kearns who’s edited the likes of The Prodigy, Radiohead and Blur; and a directing workshop with Heroes For Zeroes who include Kaiser Chiefs, Mixmaster Mike and Tom Baxter among his charges.
The event culminates on the Saturday night in an awards ceremony where a team of judges that includes former Universal Music Ireland M.D. Dave Pennefather and Red Jam Productions’ Mary McCarthy will cast a steely eye over the last crop of Irish promos. The one everyone will be hoping to land is the Bray MVF Rising Star Award, a £5,000 cache of prizes, which includes camera rental, lighting and FX packages, casting studio hire and the use of Ardmore Studios’ C-Stage for the weekend.
Tickets are available from (01) 272 4030.
