WE TOLD YOU so dept. As revealed last month in hotpress, Radiohead journey to Belfast on September 14th for a show at the 8,000-capacity Odyssey Arena.
The disappointing news is that, at present, there are no plans for Thom Yorke and the boys to play south of the border.
Meanwhile, they’ve taken everyone unawares by popping up on the ‘Scott Tenorman Must Die’ episode of South Park, which premiered in the States last weekend.
According to a Comedy Central source: “The group becomes vital to Cartman’s plot to get back at a fellow student who sold him pubic hair the pudgy fourth grader hoped to pass off as his own.”
In another surprise move, the band have given the go ahead for ‘I Might Be Wrong’ to be used in the teaser ads for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

“It’s a bit of a departure, Radiohead and sports,” admits drummer Phil Selway. “They’ve never really gone side by side, but we’re getting there.”
His guitar-playing colleague, Ed O’Brien, is adamant that their cosying up to the International Olympic Committee doesn’t represent a sell-out.
“It’s not a money thing.” he says. “We don’t do adverts for socks or aftershave. The IOC is a charitable organisation. If it’s sponsored by MasterCard, we’re not interested. But it’s advertising the spirit of the games.”
