Chris Martin and his band of melancholy music-makers can do no wrong these days, and it is refreshing to see a band of real talent being lapped up both by daytime radio and music buyers. ‘Clocks’, the latest cut to be culled from their multi-million selling A Rush Of Blood To The Head, is an insistent little fucker that doesn’t seem like obvious single material, despite the obvious U2 comparisons. But then Martin’s falsetto soars towards the heavens and you realise that maybe, just maybe, everything will be alright with the world. For a band to make you feel that way is something we should cherish.
