‘Rock To Bialystok’ battle of the bands competition will see one Limerick band play major Polish festival
Attention original Limerick rock bands! Fancy an all expenses paid trip to Poland to play in front of up to 30,000 people?
The ‘Rock To Bialystok’ competition is seeking original, energetic and exciting rock bands from the Limerick area to enter a battle of the bands competition with a super prize at stake: an opening spot at the Juwenalia Rock Festival 2011.
The three-day festival takes place on May 20 in Bialystok, northeastern Poland and attracts crowds of well over 30,000 people. The prize also includes flights, ground transportation and hotel accommodation.
The organisers will shortlist nine bands to play at three heats in Dolans Pub (Upstairs), Limerick on April 5, April 12 and April 19, with the final taking place on April 26. The judges will be chosen from the Limerick music business and there will also be a representative from Juwenalia 2011 for the final.
