Music stars and industry chiefs began to arrive in Dublin this afternoon for The Music Show, which takes place at the RDS, Dublin over the weekend.
Among those appearing at the show are Bob Gedof, Newton Faulkner, DJs Sasha and Ellen Allien, U2 producer Steve Lillywhite, world renowned drummer Carlos Hercules, Warner Music Europe CEO John Reid, Sharon Corr, Killing Bono director Nick Hamm, Later With Jools producer (and BBC Head of Creative Music) Mark Cooper, broadcasters John Robb, John Kelly and Dave Fanning, RTÉ 2fm boss John McMahon, songwriters Paul Brady, Brian Kennedy, Andy Cairns, Mundy and Gemma Hayes – among dozens more top names.
The Music Show will also be attended by the Minister for Communications, Energy and Renewal Eamon Ryan, who will participate in a panel on Saturday, and by the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport, Mary Hanafin.
"It has been a huge logistical operation, but we're ready to rock," the Music Show's Mark Hogan said. "There will be a huge number of brilliant things happening over the weekend and loads of stars to be seen. At this stage we're really looking forward to opening the doors!

"The Live Stage," he added, "will be like a veritable Who's Who of Ireland's current finest with Sharon Corr, Cathy Davey,The Coronas, Damien Dempsey, Republic of Loose, Jerry Fish & The Mudbug Club, O Emperor, The Brilliant Things and recent Guinness Our Thursdays competition winners Maud In Cahoots, among many more, leading the charge, on what promises to be a brilliant two days of musical excitement."
