Wu-Tang Clan's Ol' Dirty Bastard collapsed and died suddenly in his recording studio on Saturday
Founding Wu-Tang rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard has died at the age of 35 due to causes as yet unknown.
The MC, real name Russell T. Jones, was at his New York recording studios on Saturday afternoon when he collapsed, following complaints of chest pains. Paramedics were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to reports, police found no evidence of foul play and an autopsy was being carried out yesterday.
Ol' Dirty Bastard had been recording new solo material for his planned release on Roc-A-Fella Records. Close friend and label CEO Damon Dash had this to say about the tragedy:

"The world has lost a great talent, but we mourn the loss of our friend… Russell inspired all of us with his spirit, wit and tremendous heart. He will be missed dearly, and our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences go out to his wonderful family."
Jones, who would have celebrated his 36th birthday today, November 15, leaves behind 13 children (to several different mothers).
His own mother had this to day on Saturday evening: "To the public he was known as Ol’ Dirty Bastard. To me, he was known as Rusty, the kindest and most generous soul on the earth. I appreciate all the support I received. Russell was more than a rapper; he was a loving father, brother, uncle and most of all, son."
