Briebart writer and right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopolous has been permanently banned from Twitter for breaking its terms of service
Milo Yiannopoulos, right wing commentator and writer, has had his @Nero Twitter account suspended for breaching Twitter's terms of service with his harassment of Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones.
The self-proclaimed "Most fabulous supervillian on the internet" has been temporarily suspended in the past and has had his 'Blue Tick' of official verification removed due to his controversial behaviour in the past.
This latest debacle arose from his scathing review of Ghostbusters which has been accused of triggering a campaign of harassment targeted at Jones, much of which was racially motivated. Critics of the Milo accuse the notorious contrarian of fanning the flames of the harassment campaign.
Jones called out Twitter for not doing enough to combat online harassment. In response Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey contacted her directly. Resultantly Yiannopoulos' @Nero account was permanently banned.
Twitter released a statement about the controversial ban
"People should be able to express diverse opinions and beliefs on Twitter. But no one deserves to be subjected to targeted abuse online, and our rules prohibit inciting or engaging in the targeted abuse or harassment of others. Over the past 48 hours in particular, we've seen an uptick in the number of accounts violating these policies and have taken enforcement actions against these accounts, ranging from warnings that also require the deletion of Tweets violating our policies to permanent suspension."

In response Milo said on Briebart.com,“With the cowardly suspension of my account, Twitter has confirmed itself as a safe space for Muslim terrorists and Black Lives Matter extremists, but a no-go zone for conservatives.”
