Swampblood
Twisted roots music from sourmash shlockabillies.
Whiskey-soaked pysychobillies The Legendary Shack Shakers’ fifth album continues on from where they left off on 2006’s Penelirium, with yet more tales of devilment and dastardliness. Fusing elements of rockabilly, gospel and blues, Col. J.D. Wilkes’ band is so steeped in the American South you can almost taste the moonshine and smell the fried chicken when you listen to their music. Swampblood is a great album for blowing the cobwebs off that two day hangover and is a must-have for greaser kids, because these good ol’ boys certainly make good ol’ music.
Key Track: ‘He Ain’t Right’
