Matt Cameron has become the first member of the Seattle grunge band to publicly pay tribute to the iconic singer, who tragically died from a suspected suicide last week.
Taking to Facebook, Matt Cameron (also of Pearl Jam) wrote: "My dark knight is gone. Thank you for the incredible outpouring of kindness and love.”
Meanwhile, Pearl Jam's Mike McCready who collaborated with Chris Cornell on the Temple of Dog album project has also paid tribute to Chris.
The album was made in honour of Chris Cornell's ex-flatmate Andrew Wood, the former lead singer of Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone, who died from a heroin overdose in 1990.
"Chris Cornell painted in song the darkness and beauty of life in Seattle. Chris means a lot to me today, as he trusted me to play on Temple. He handed me a dream in getting to actually play on beautiful songs," he stated.
Here's the video for the track 'Hunger Strike' with Chris dueting with Eddie Vedder, which was one of the most popular songs from The Temple of Dog album...
