The Girls Aloud and X-Factor star is filling in for Martha Wainwright at the Royal Albert Hall.
Gary Lightbody has told the online Spinner magazine that Snow Patrol will be performing at tomorrow night’s Royal Albert Hall Children In Need fundraiser with Cheryl Cole.
Yup, Ashley’s missus will be depping for the otherwise occupied Martha Wainwright on ‘Set The Fire To The Third Bar’.
“Everyone gets a partner, it was like getting a partner at school,” Gary reveals. “We got the prettiest girl in the class! She said, 'What song do you want to do?' and we said, 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar', and she went away and listened to it. I think she'd only heard a couple of our singles. She got back straight away and said, 'Yeah, I'm up for it.' Hats off to her. People have raised an eyebrow now and again when we've mentioned we're doing it with Cheryl Cole but I think it's going to be a really interesting experience.”
Highlights from the gig, which also features the likes of Muse, Take That, Paul McCartney, Dame Shirley Bassey and Dizzee Rascal, will air on November 20 as part of the BBC’s annual telethon.
