Scheme will see one Irish artist funded to the tune of €38,000
Applications are now being taken for the Sky Academy Arts Scholarship, run in association with IdeasTap. The scholarship will see one emerging Irish artist receive expert mentoring, along with funding of €38,000.
The scheme will award five young artists in the UK and Ireland with the support for a year of their developing careers, as part of the Sky Academy initiative designed to create one million new opportunities for young people by 2020.
Mark Deering of Sky Ireland is excited by the project. "Supporting the development of young artists is crucial to the future vitality of the arts," he said. "We are proud to once again be working with Sky Arts, and Ideas Tap, to do this. We can’t wait to support a brilliant young artist from Ireland.”
