Frontman Josh Homme revealed the band will be heading back to the studio very soon.
Alt-rock icons Queens of the Stone Age have revealed they are 'locked in' to make a new album.
The news comes as a welcome surprise to fans after the band said they would be taking a break following two years on the road.
Homme made the announcement on a recent broadcast on the Let There Be Talk podcast. “Yeah, [a QOTSA return is up next on my schedule]. Same lineup, we’re locked in. We’re having a meeting tomorrow about what we’re gonna do.”
'Same lineup' refers to the members who were involved in the bands last album ...like Clockwork. Although it is unlikely to feature ex bassist Nick Oliveri.
The band held a surprise gig in Los Angeles in September 2015 and since then Homme has released an album with Eagles Of Death Metal and Iggy Pop.
Here's some Queens of the Stone Age to remind you why you should be excited.
