In our new issue, Mullingar man Niall Horan opens up about the band's rollercoaster ride to the top...
There's no denying One Direction are the biggest pop band on the planet right now. Formed in 2010 on The X-Factor, the teenage five-piece have sold an astonishing 15 million records since then, and done what so many other bands have failed to - conquered America.
In our new issue - out Thursday (Jan 31) - we meet the band's Irish member; Mullingar man Niall Horan. The teen idol opens up to Celina Murphy about the band's astonishing journey so far, and explains how he tries to lead a normal life despite being a bona fide celebrity and heartthrob.
Niall also chats about his 'big brother' relationship with fellow Westmeath singer Bressie, and reveals his musical leanings are more towards the likes of The Vaccines and Kodaline.
We also talk to Louis Walsh about the 1D phenomenon. "They're a very modern version of The Monkees", he says. "Everybody has a role, they're all good guys."
