The news comes after the Poker Face singer met with the Dali Lama recently.
Lady Gaga could be banned from visiting China in the future following a recent meeting with the Dali Lama.
The pair discussed issues such as mental health and tragedy during a livestreamed chat.
Both Gaga and the Dali Lama met at 84th annual Conference of Mayors in Indianapolis, where they both gave speeches.
China and the Dali Lama have had a rocky relationship for decades following the Dali Lamas exile from Tibet in 1959, which had been ruled by China at the time. Since his exile the Dali Lama has fought for the independence of Tibet.
Following the meeting, the Communist party’s propaganda department reportedly issued "an important instruction" banning Gaga from mainland China.
Lady Gaga will not be the first artist to be banned from China in a similar fashion. Oasis, Maroon 5 and Bjork have all received the same treatment following meeting with the Dali Lama.
The pair answered questions during their chat sent to them on social media from people around the world.
