Organisers will donate all proceeds of the festival's compilation CD to the charity...
KnockanStockan, winner of the 2012 Irish Festival Award for 'Best Small Festival', has teamed up with Pieta House for this year’s installment of the three-day open-air festival.
Festival organisers will be donating all proceeds of the accompanying compilation CD to the charity; a suicde and self-harm crisis centre which provides professional, face-to-face, and free of charge care for people in the overwhelming stages of distress.
“We’re delighted to receive the support of KnockanStockan… and I want to thank them for selecting us as their chosen charity,” said Joan Freeman, CEO of Pieta House.
In addition to the proceeds that will come from the CD, there will also be other fundraising activities during the festival. At the “Tea & Toast Jam”, festival goers will have the opportunity to buy a cup of tea and a slice of toast while enjoying acoustic sets by some of the festival performers.

“The festival wanted to give something back this year,” said Bettine McMahon, speaking on behalf of Knockanstockan. The organisers decided to let their Facebook fans decide which charity should benefit. “Our fans nominated Pieta House as our chosen charity because of the fantastic work they do in suicide intervention”.
Over 150 acts are scheduled to perform on eight stages over the weekend of July 26 - 28 in the idyllic setting on the banks of the Blessington Lakes, Co. Wicklow.
