In an ad for Amnesty International, the singer's statement is used to make a larger point regarding torture.
When they're not casually approaching you in the Dublin city centre, ready to make you feel terrible about your comfortable Western life, Amesty Internationial will break out some clever subtle advertising.
In their latest advertisement they've brought Iggy Pop into the fold, plastering his face across a poster and then plastering that plastered face throughout Belgium with the phrase that is translated to "The future of rock 'n' roll, it's Justin Bieber."
While Bieber has been dealing with some real Rock and Roll style controversy as of late, with the classic drinking and driving arrest followed by a racism scandal that has seen comparison's to Eric Clapton's support of Enoch Powell in 1976, it's likely that Pop did not intend his statement to be factual. Below the quote the text translates to "Torture a man, and he will tell you anything. In addition to being inhumane, torture is ineffective. Let's stop it."
