The festival site is experience heavy rain and poor ground conditions.
Organisers of the Glastonbury festival have urged those who have yet to travel to the festival to stay away until conditions improve.
Heavy rainfall has churned up mud on the site as well as the roads leading up to it leaving the car parks congested and causing massive traffic jams. Numerous festival goers already near Worthy Farm have reported moving less than half a mile over the course of up to four hours. One attendee said he was in his car for twelve hours without moving.
Avon and Somerset police are working with the festival's organisers to minimise delays. The festival issued a statement at 6:30am asking people to delay their departure for the site just 90 minutes before the gates were due to open.
