A stunning evening from the Bray troubadour...
It’s safe to say Fionn Regan is not exactly a people person. He shuffles on stage, gives the audience an awkward wave and wordlessly picks up an acoustic guitar from the collection behind him, before the opening chords of '100 Acres Of Sycamore' begin to echo through the packed Pepper Canister Church.
As soon as he begins singing, Regan transforms. He becomes a storyteller, confident yet vulnerable; his delicate poetic lyrics crystal clear in the intimate church venue. It soon becomes apparent that he does not need to be a people person, because Regan’s arresting charm is in the way he exposes his innermost thoughts and emotions through his songs. Lyrics such as “I’ve always had a thing for dangerous women ... I can now say I’ve been kissed across my pale body” had the audience mesmerised from start to finish.
Since being short-listed for Best Album in the Mercury Music Awards in 2007, Regan has become one of the most respected singer-songwriters in the country. His most recent album, 100 Acres Of Sycamore, has been met with widespread critical acclaim and provided some of the most pivotal moments of the evening.

Highlights of Regan's memorable set included 'Sow Mare Bitch Vixen', 'Lake District', 'Be Good Or Be Gone' and 'List Of Distractions'. A spellbinding version of 'Vodka Sorrow', featuring Regan on grand piano, provided a suitably stunning end to the evening.
