DANGERMOUSE PRODUCED OFFERING YIELDS ECLECTIC RESULTS
Mondo is the debut album from LA nu-pop duo Electric Guest and it’s a supremely soulful, funk-tinged salvo full of space-age melodies, living up to the initial promise of their single ‘This Head I Hold.’ Immaculately produced by Dangermouse, singer Asa Taccone (brother of Jorma, a founding member of the smirk-inducing comedy troupe The Lonely Island) has a smooth and silky vocal tone and his performances on the likes of ‘Awake,’ eight-minute epic ‘Trouble Man’ and the sure to be massive ‘The Bait’ are pitch perfect throughout. Fans of Gnarls Barkley, Scissor Sisters and ‘60s era French pop will adore this record.
