Stradbally-bound foodies are in for a treat with Derry Clarke and friends cooking up the Ultimate Picnic Banquet in a pop-up restaurant tent.
Joining the L’Ecrivain head honcho in the kitchen will be Kevin Hui of China Sichuan, Warren Massey of L’Gueuleton and Michelin Star man Ross Lewis from Chapter One.
The menu comprises Dim Sum, Organic Sea Trout with Walnut Gel, Fennel, Apple and Citrus Salad; Dry Aged Beef Fillet, Steak & Kidney Pie, Pickled Mushroom, Watercress & Onion; Silke Cropp’s Cavanbert Cheese, Truffle Honey, Fig Chutney & Natural Sea Salt Crackers and Fresh Raspberries & Baked Custard with Gingerbread Crumb, Lime Curd, White Chocolate & Lavender with veggie options also available.
There will be five sittings over the course of the Electric Picnic weekend - one on Friday and two on both Saturday and Sunday - with an estimated meal time of two hours. Tickets, which include a half-bottle of wine, are £120 a head.
All proceeds go to Console, the charity that provides counselling, support and helpline for those affected by suicide.
It’s a cause close to Derry’s heart following the tragic death of his 16-year-old son Andrew.
“When we suffered our loss last year Console was just great to me,” says Derry who’s also in training for the 700k Paris2Nice cycle in September, which has already raised €70,000 for Console. “We want to help some other families suffering from the heartbreak and grief of suicide.”
