June festival, featuring Delorentos, Damien Dempsey and Hermitage Green will not go ahead
Organisers of INIS Fest 2015 have announced that the festival will not go ahead, citing concerns raised by local residents that need to be addressed before an event can go ahead.
The three-day celebration, scheduled to mark Ennis' 775th anniversary, was set to play host to an array of Irish stars, among them Delorentos (pictured), Damien Dempsey, Hermitage Green, Mundy and Nathan Carter.
Residents, however, had voiced concerns regarding anti-social behaviour and possible damage to their property, as well as questioning the legality of selling alcohol in the publicly owned Fair Green in the town.
Impressario Events, the organisers of the festival, have released a statement to confirm that consultations with local residents had led to the event's cancellation.
"We are disappointed that such a positive event for Ennis is not going ahead at this time," they said, adding, "We are looking forward to working with all interests to stage such an event in the future.
All tickets sold for the event will be refunded
