Graduates from Dublin’s Sound Training Centre have produced Let’s Get By Together, a fundraising covers album for LGBT support group Belong To.
Highlights include Delorentos’ take on ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’, Propeller Palms & Jerry Fish’s ‘West End Girls’, Ham Sandwich’s live ‘I Feel Love’, Leanne Harte’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ and The Late David Turpin’s ‘The Way We Were’. Other songs getting makeovers are ‘Over The Rainbow’, ‘Losing My Religion’, ‘Constant Craving’, ‘Small Town Boy’, ‘Same Love’, ‘Somewhere’ and ‘Boderline’.
The official launch gig takes place on June 10 in The Button Factory which, with it also being Judy Garland’s 92nd birthday, will have a Wizard Of Oz theme.
Gloria Choir, Cars Love Girls, Columbia Mills, CPNHGN, Paul Creane & The Changing Band and Jamie Nanci & The Blue Boys are all confirmed with more to be added.
It’s free in but if you’d like to tip that would be lovely!
